Email Address – Domain or No Domain
After creating my website and looking at what I needed to do next, I realised I need an email address for the business so that I can use it on the website and use it as a sign in for my social media accounts which I am yet to set up until I have an email address to work from.
The most professional way to have a email address for a business is to have the domain name as your business name, e.g. @cfmedia.co.uk. This adds credibility to your business and creates a professional image for a business.
However, just like the domain for the website, this comes with a cost. The sites I have looked at all come with a cost, and just like the domain purchase, I’d have to wait until I have an income to pay a monthly fee or set fee for both domains at the same time.
In the mean time, I have set up a free gmail account. This is not one of Googles business accounts as they also cost. For now, it’s just a free account; firstname.lastname@example.org
Now I can update my website with this address and start setting up Social Media Accounts using the same address.
The information on my website has now been updated with the correct email address so that the contact form on the contact page is linked to this email address.
